THE MAKING OF "DAZED"

Nicola Boccaccini is a young photographer from Udine. His first
work experiences were in typography and documentary.
Since 2000 he has been devoted
to photographic activities, experiencing both reportage and fine art, working
both with analogic and digital methods, and specializing in backstages,
documentation of events, street photography, and mainly portraiture, especially
of artists, illustrators, and in general people in creative professions as
printers, graphic artists, designers, musicians.
In following the activities of
award-winning illustrator Alessandro Gottardo, internationally known under the
pseudonym Shout, Boccaccini has documented the making of the folder of etchings
and aquatints entitled Dazed,
which was designed by the artist for the publisher 27_9 in Milan at the art
printing laboratory Il Foglio: “By using
photography, which feeds on reality, I’m trying to
represent a world which often takes a distance from reality, while projecting
you into a dimension in which space and time do not exist and whose
implications you would like to savor for long”.
