Flavio Boretti was born in Milan, Italy, in 1974. His profession: short-term contract graphic designer, and his passion: globetrotter without passport. Around 2003, he founded the project minimalab.net. His lifetime love of visual arts leads him to try his hand from photography to graphics, from animation and comics to painting. Since 2010 he has lived in Pescara, where he has founded La Recherche, a testing communication agency, with some friends.

The WhiteBeach series make up an unusual view of a winter day on an Adriatic beach resort. The pictures were taken (with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 camera) on 15 and 16 December 2010 on the Pineto beach, near Teramo, and subsequently given a digital treatment for colour correction.

The winter atmosphere, with vivid contrasting colours, permeates the typical elements of the Adriatic seaside when wrapped up in snow and clouds. The crossing natural phenomena take the landscape to a dreamy place frozen in time.
