This is how Presutti
presents Dependency, a personal project
carried out between 2010 and 2012: “In our modern world overwhelmed by
matter the only way to survive is often dependence on something outside
ourselves. But running from what we hate to rush towards something we
apparently love leads to worse results and often causes the permanent loss of
ourselves. My goal was the search for our borderline side through a non-dramatic
but paradoxical representation. I tried to convey a portrait of our society in
which each of us can mirror himself, and whose irony will make us smile at
first approach, but which will later make us reflect upon the actual fragility
which is the distinctive trait of our age”.
